Colorectal cancer (CRC) is the third most frequently diagnosed cancer in the United States and the second leading cause of cancer death behind lung cancer. The lifetime risk of being diagnosed with CRC is about 6%, although individuals who have one or more first-degree relatives with CRC are at higher risk.
